Are you ready to stitch your way into the fashion-forward world of custom womenswear? Love Stephanie Apparel (based in Portland/Lake Oswego) is on the lookout for a creative, eager Sewing & Design Intern to join Stephanie Mendes McComb, our brilliant designer and custom-seamstress extraordinaire.
About Stephanie
Stephanie is not your average designer—she’s quilted a career across high-end corporate fashion and studied at London's College of Fashion, all before launching her own custom boutique. She brings unwavering quality, passion, and a dash of artistry to every dress, suit, coat, and bridal gown she crafts—no shortcuts allowed! Her warm, client-centered process ensures each garment feels personal, perfect, and fabulously made.
What You'll Be Doing
Sewing & constructing custom women’s fashion using domestic, industrial machines, and sergers.
Learning from Stephanie: assist with patternmaking, fittings, fabric selection, and client sessions.
Design support: help bring custom bridal, special-occasion, and everyday pieces to life.
Organizational teamwork: maintain the workspace, prep materials, and assist during fittings.
Client care: support gentle, confidence-building interactions during fittings & client meetings.
What You Bring
Basic sewing and garment construction skills (we’ll test you—but it’ll be fun!).
Curiosity and drive to level up your expertise in pattern making, fabrics, sewing terminology, and fit adjustment.
A go-getter attitude and friendly energy to keep the studio flowing smoothly.
The Details
Part-time internship: 10–15 hours/week.
Unpaid for a 4–6 week trial, after which exceptional interns may be invited to step into a paid role.
